हड़प्पा-सैन्धव सभ्यता से प्राप्त पशुपति शिव की मुहर से तो सभी इतिहास के विद्यार्थी, शोधार्थी परिचित होंगे ही. उसी से मिलता जुलता यूरोप में एक सेल्टिक (Celtic) देवता पाया जाता है. सेल्टिक (Celtic) लोग यूरोप के अधिकांश भागों में लगभग २००० वर्ष पहले रहते थे. यूँ कहे यूरोप के अधिकांश हिस्सों में ईसाईयत के प्रचार प्रसार से पहले सेल्टिक (Celtic) लोग या उनके वंशज ही रहा करते थे.
इनके धर्मगुरु ड्रुइड (Druid) कहलाते थे. अधिकांश इतिहासकारों और विद्वानों का मानना है कि ड्रुइडस यूरोप में भारत से आये ब्राह्मण थे. ड्रुइड सिर्फ सेल्टिक (Celtic) लोगों के ही नहीं बल्कि गॉल प्रदेश (स्पेन, फ़्रांस, पुर्तगाल आदि) के गॉल लोगों के धर्मगुरु भी ड्रुइड ही होते थे और इनकी सभ्यता/संस्कृति भी सेल्टिक (Celtic) सभ्यता/संस्कृति ही कही जाती थी.

यह सेल्टिक (Celtic) देवता कौन हैं?
यह चित्र जाटलैंड (Jutland) के एक विशाल बर्तन जिसे Gundestrup कहा जाता है पर चित्रित है. माना जाता है कि यह प्रथम शताब्दी ईस्वीपूर्व का है. यूरोपियन इतिहासकार इस देवता का नाम नहीं जानते हैं क्योंकि ईसाई बनाने और बनने के बाद यूरोपियनों ने मुसलमानों की तरह ही अपने पूर्वजों के इतिहास को ढूंड-ढूंडकर नष्ट कर दिया था और ईसापूर्व अपने पूर्वजों के इतिहास को अंधकार युग घोषित कर दिया था. इसलिए वे इस देवता को Cernunnos टाईप देवता अर्थात सींगवाले देवता कहते हैं जो पशुओं के देवता या जंगली चीजों के देवता या प्रकृति के देवता थे.
This Cernunnos type in Celtic iconography is often portrayed with a stag and the ram-horned serpent. Less frequently, there are bulls (at Rheims), dogs and rats. Because of the image of him on the Gundestrup Cauldron, some scholars describe Cernunnos as the Lord of the Animals or the Lord of Wild Things or as a “peaceful god of nature [Green, Miranda (1992) Animals in Celtic Life and Myth, p. 228.]
Anne Ross लिखते हैं, “Cernunnos” is widely believed by Celticists to be an obscure epithet of a better attested Gaulish deity; perhaps the God described in the interpretatio Romana as Silvanus (शिव?) or Dis Pater (देवस पितर अर्थात देवताओं के पिता) [Anne Ross. गॉल लोग (स्पेन, फ़्रांस, पुर्तगाल आदि) आधुनिक यूरोपियनों के विपरीत भारतियों की तरह अपने को Dis Pater (देवस पितर) अर्थात देवताओं के पिता यानि ब्रह्मा (या शिव) की सन्तान मानते थे-पी एन ओक
क्या यह सेल्टिक (Celtic) देवता पशुपति शिव हैं?
यह सेल्टिक (Celtic) देवता सैन्धव सभ्यता के पशुपति शिव से मिलता जुलता है इसलिए यह भी पशुपति शिव हो सकते हैं और इसे निम्नलिखित बिन्दुओं में साबित किया जा सकता है:
सेल्टिक (Celtic) देवता और सैन्धव सभ्यता के पशुपति दोनों पशुओं से घिरे हुए हैं. सेल्टिक (Celtic) देवता के साथ चार बड़े जानवर मृग, बाघ, घोड़ा और कुत्ता है जबकि सैन्धव सभ्यता के पशुपति के चित्र में भी चार बड़े जानवर बाघ, हाथी, गैंडा और बैल है. दो मृग सैन्धव सभ्यता के पशुपति के चित्र में भी पशुपति के नीचे हैं. बैल का सींग सेल्टिक (Celtic) देवता के चित्र में घोड़े में लगा दिया गया लगता है.
दोनों में देवता पद्मासन में बैठे हैं और दोनों के माथे पर सींग हैं जो मृग का सींग हैं. सेल्टिक (Celtic) देवता के माथे पर मृग के ही सींग लगे हैं यह स्पष्ट दिखाई देता है. सैन्धव सभ्यता वाले पशुपति के सींग भी मृग के हैं. आप पशुपति के सींग को ध्यान से देखेंगे तो यह बिलकुल मृग (Antelope) का सींग जैसा ही गांठों वाला दिखेगा जैसा की निचे चित्र में दिखाई दे रहा है.
पशुपति के माथे पर मृग के सींग का क्या रहस्य है?
अब सवाल उठता है पशुपति के चित्रों में आखिर यह मृग के सींग का क्या रहस्य है? दोनों ही चित्रों में मृग का सींग पशुपति के माथे पर है. कालांतर में मृग सोम अर्थात चन्द्रमा का प्रतीक बन गया क्योंकि चन्द्रमा को मृग की तरह चंचल, मृगांक, दश मृग वाले रथों पर सवार आदि कहा गया है. परिणाम यह हुआ की पशुपति का सींग चन्द्रमा का आकार ग्रहण करने लगा और शिव सोमनाथ हो गये. परन्तु परिवर्तन का यह चरण भारतवर्ष में ही दिखाई देता है यूरोपीय देशों में नहीं. इसलिए भारत में मृग गौण होकर छोटा हो गया और सोम का प्रतीक मृग का सींग बड़ा होकर चन्द्राकर हो गया. परवर्ती काल में यह सींग एशिया में संभवतः चन्द्रमा और शिव के जटा का रूप ले लिया है.
परन्तु अभी बहुत से गुत्थी सुलझने बाकी हैं. उनमें से सबसे महत्पूर्ण है शिव का त्रिशूल. कुछ विद्वानों का मानना है कि हड़प्पा में मिले पशुपति का सींग ही कालांतर में त्रिशूल का रूप ले लिया. यह भी सम्भव है. सींग त्रिशूल बन गया हो और फिर सिर को ढंकने केलिए जटा आ गया हो और चन्द्राकर सींग की कमी को दूर करने केलिए द्वितीया का चाँद लगा दिया गया हो.
दूसरा गुत्थी है शिव के गले का सर्प. सर्प भारतवर्ष में शिव का अभिन्न अंग बन गया है. पर हड़प्पा के पशुपति के साथ सर्प नहीं है जबकि सेल्टिक (Celtic) पशुपति के साथ सर्प है पर हाथ में है. मध्य एशिया से प्राप्त शिव के चित्र वाले प्राचीन सिक्के या पेंटिंग्स में भी सर्प या तो हाथ में है या माथे पर या नहीं है. इस गुत्थी का सुलझना अभी बाकी है. एक और गुत्थी है भारत में हजारों वर्षों से घर घर में पहनी जाने वाली कड़ा जिसे सेल्टिक (Celtic) पशुपति हाथ में पकड़े हुए हैं. यह सेल्टिक (Celtic) पशुपति के हाथ में कैसे पहुंचा यह भी अभी रहस्य बना हुआ है. यदि पाठकों को इस विषय में कोई जानकारी प्रमाण सहित हो तो कृपया हमें मेल करें.
इतिहासकार भगवान सिंह लिखते हैं, “हड़प्पा सभ्यता में सोम और शिव दोनों का प्रचलन था…और दोनों के बीच निकट सम्बन्ध था. मार्शल ने सिन्धु घाटी में प्रचलित धर्म पर विचार करते हुए रूद्र शिव के विषय में एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बात यह कही है कि इनके माथे पर लगा सींग किसी पवित्र प्रतीक का द्योतक है और यही अनेक दुसरे सन्दर्भों में भी मिलता है, अतः इसका अनिवार्य सम्बन्ध शिव से ही नहीं है. यह वस्तुतः सोम…. के साथ प्रकट किया गया है ….इसी कारण आगे चलकर रूद्र चन्द्रभाल या इंदुशेखर बन जाते हैं. सेल्टिक (Celtic) पशुपति के चित्र में एक और विशेषता दिखाई देती है. बीच बीच में यूरोप में पाया जानेवाला पोप्लर का पत्ता या पीपल का ही पत्ता बना हुआ है. ऐसा लगता है चित्र बनानेवाले लोग पशुओं और पत्तियों की आकृति से अपने देवता “पशुपति” का नाम पशु-पत्ती के रूप में जीवंत करना चाहते हों.
नोट: लेखक हड़प्पा सैन्धव सभ्यता को वैदिक सभ्यता का ही हिस्सा मानता है क्योंकि यही सत्य है.
