बाबा साहेब आम्बेडकर
मैं पिछले दिनों शोध कर रहा था कि अंग्रेजों ने जिन हिन्दू जातियों को अनुसूचित जाति में शामिल किया था क्या वे सचमुच दलित थे तथा ब्राह्मणों और क्षत्रियों द्वारा ५००० वर्षों से शोषित और पीड़ित थे! मैंने अपने शोध में पाया कि अंग्रेजों ने जिन जातियों को अनुसूचित जाति में शामिल किया था अपवाद को छोड़कर बाकी सब क्षत्रिय, ब्राह्मण और वैश्य जाति से थे और वे क्षत्रियों, ब्राह्मणों के द्वारा ५००० वर्षों से शोषित, पीड़ित नहीं बल्कि उनकी दुर्गति केलिए ८०० वर्षों का अत्याचारी, हिंसक, लूटेरा मुस्लिम शासन और २०० वर्षों का लूट और अत्याचार वाला अंग्रेजों का शासन जिम्मेदार था. यहाँ तक कि बाबा साहेब अम्बेडकर जो अंग्रेजों के फूट डालो राज करो कि नीति के तहत बनाये गये कम्युनल अवार्ड, जिसका सभी भारतियों ने एकमत से विरोध किया था जबकि डॉ अम्बेडकर ने समर्थन, वे खुद न तो दलित थे और न ही अछूत जाति के थे. इस शोध को विस्तार से निचे के लिंक पर पढ़ सकते हैं.
तो फिर डॉ अम्बेडकर कौन थे और किस जाति के थे
महाराष्ट्र में प्राचीन समय से एक योद्धा और सैनिक जाति थी जिसे महार(थी) कहा जाता था. ये क्षत्रिय वर्ग के थे और शिवाजी की सेना में अपनी वीरता और शूरता केलिए विख्यात थे. ये महार(थी) जातियां पेशवाओं की सेना में भी साथ साथ रहे. इनके बड़े बड़े कारनामों से मराठा इतिहास भड़ा पड़ा है. पर अंग्रेजी शासन में जब कुछ महार(थी) लोग अंग्रेजों कि सेना में भी शामिल होने लगे तो पेशवा कि सेना में इनकी प्रतिष्ठा कम होने लगी जो पेशवा बाजीराव द्वितीय के समय और भी कम हो गयी. अंग्रेज कि सेना में योद्धा जातियों का महार रेजिमेंट युद्ध कौशल केलिए विख्यात था. भीमा कोरेगांव में हुए १८१८ के आंग्ल-मराठा युद्ध में मराठा सरदार पेशवा बाजीराव द्वितीय के विरुद्ध अंग्रेजों की महार सेना पूरी ताकत से लड़ी और मराठों को हरा दिया. इतना ही नहीं ये मराठी होकर मराठों को चिढाने केलिए भीमा कोरेगांव में अंग्रेजों का विजय दिवस भी मनाने लगे तो मराठा समाज ने अंग्रेजी सेना में शामिल और विजय दिवस मनाने वाले महारों को समाज से बहिष्कृत कर दिया जिससे उन्हें गाँव/शहर के बाहरी हिस्से में बसना पड़ा. यहीं से महारों का पतन और महार-मराठा मतभेद कि शुरुआत हुई.
स्पष्ट है महार(थी) जातियों का बहिष्कार किसी सामाजिक विद्वेष या छूआछूत के कारण ब्राह्मणों ने नहीं किया था बल्कि मराठा समाज से गद्दारी और अंग्रेजों से वफ़ादारी के कारण उन्हें मराठा समाज ने बहिष्कृत किया था परन्तु क्षत्रिय खून महारों ने इसे स्वीकार नहीं किया और पूरी तरह अंग्रेजों के पक्ष में हो गये जिससे मराठे और कमजोर पड़ गये और कुछ महीनों के भीतर ही मराठा सत्ता लगभग खत्म हो गया और महाराष्ट्र में भी अंग्रेजों का राज हो गया.
महार-मराठा विवाद और बढ़ा
परिणाम यह हुआ कि मराठा समाज और महार(थी) समाज के बीच खाई और चौड़ी होती चली गयी. बाद में पुणे के पेशवा ने गुस्से में महारों को गाँव/शहर में प्रवेश केलिए अलग पहचान सम्बन्धी कुछ ऐसा शर्त लगा दिया जो अबतक सिर्फ कुछ मुस्लिम शासक अपने राज्यों में हिन्दुओं को अपमानित करने केलिए ही लगाते आये थे. यह गलत था पर हमें समझना होगा गलतियाँ दोनों ओर से हुई थी. हालाँकि गाँव/शहर से बाहर बसने के बाबजूद इनके रहन सहन में कुछ विशेष परिवर्तन नहीं आया था क्योंकि इनका मुख्य पेशा सैन्य कार्य था. ऐसी जानकारी मिलती है कि ये खुद घोड़े पर शान से चलते थे पर गाँव के सीमा पर पहले से बसे मंग/मंगी जातियों को उनके शादी ब्याह में भी उन्हें घोड़े पर चढ़ने के योग्य नहीं मानते थे या नहीं चढ़ने देते थे. मंग के हाथ का भोजन१ भी नहीं खाते थे.
डॉ भीमराव रामजी अम्बेडकर के जन्म के बाद
बाबा साहेब आम्बेडकर का जन्म इन्ही महार(थी) परिवार में १४ अप्रैल, १८९१ को इंदौर के महो कैंटोनमेंट में हुआ था. उनके पिता रामजी मालोजी सकपाल अंग्रेज सरकार कि सेना में सूबेदार मेजर के पद पर थे और आर्मी स्कूल के हेडमास्टर थे अर्थात परिवार शिक्षित, सुखी और सम्पन्न था, गरीब नहीं. परन्तु अगले ही साल महारों के सिर पर अंग्रेजों का गाज गिरा गया. जिन महारों ने अंग्रेजों केलिए अपने मराठा समाज से दुश्मनी मोल ले ली थी उन महारों को अंग्रेजों ने धोखा दे दिया. महार(थी) समाज को मराठों द्वारा अपने समाज से बहिष्कृत कर देने के ७५ वर्ष बाद १८९२ में धूर्त अंग्रेजों ने उन्हें अछूत (untouchable) जाति कहकर सेना में भर्ती से यह कहते हुए मना कर दिया कि तुमलोग सैनिक/लड़ाकू जाति२ के नहीं हो. यहाँ यह ध्यान देने कि बात है कि अंग्रेजों ने इन्हें “अछूत” कहा जो सच नहीं था क्योंकि ये अछूत नहीं बल्कि अंग्रेजों केलिए ही अपने समाज के विरुद्ध कार्य करने के कारण समाज से “बहिष्कृत” कर दिए गये थे.
मैं पहले ही बता चूका हूँ सनातन वैदिक चतुर्वर्ण व्यवस्था में छुआछूत का कोई संकल्पना नहीं है. अगर कहीं एसा था तो वह व्यक्तिगत दुष्टता या स्थानीय सामाज का दोष मात्र था या होगा जैसे यहाँ महार (क्षत्रिय) और पेशवा (ब्राह्मण) कि जातीय लडाई था. अपर कास्ट, लोअर कास्ट, अछूत जाति आदि शब्द अंग्रेजों कि देन है. वैदिक समाज का सन्गठन पूरी तरह वैज्ञानिक है इसलिए मृत पशुओं का काम करने वाले चर्मकार और मृतक व्यक्तियों का अग्नि संस्कार करानेवाले डोम गाँव अथवा शहर के बाहरी हिस्से में बसाये जाते थे ताकि गाँव में प्रदुषण अथवा संक्रमन का खतरा उत्पन्न न हो. पर ये अछूत नहीं थे. परन्तु अंग्रेजों ने जब गाँव के बाहरी हिस्से में बसनेवाले महारों केलिए अछूत शब्द का प्रयोग किया तो धूर्त अंग्रेजों के अलौकिक ज्ञान के अंधे अनुयायियों ने महारों के साथ साथ वैज्ञानिक कारणों से सीमा पर बसनेवाले सभी चर्मकार और डोम जातियों को अछूत घोषित कर छूआछूत का प्रपंच रच दिया इसके बाबजूद कि जब महारों को अछूत जाति बताकर अंग्रेज सरकार १८९२ में सेना में भर्ती करने से इंकार कर दिया था तब महारों ने अपने लिखित आवेदन में कहा कि वे क्षत्रियवंशी३ है अछूत जाति नहीं. पर अंग्रेजों ने इन्हें सेना में भर्ती करने से इंकार कर दिया जिससे इनकी दशा और खराब होती चली गयी.

महार(थी) जातियां पांडुपुत्र भीम के वंशज हैं
उपर्युक्त से हमारा निष्कर्ष सही ठहरता है कि उन्नीसवी शताब्दी तक महार(थी) जाति मराठा और अंग्रेज सरकार कि सेना में क्षत्रिय लड़ाकू जाति के रूप में ही काम करते थे. आपको जानकर आश्चर्य होगा कि महारों में सबसे बड़ा वर्ग जो सोमवंशी महारों का है वो महाभारतकाल के पांडूपुत्र भीम के वंशज हैं. पांडुपुत्र भीमसेन कि यक्ष पत्नी हिडिम्बा से घटोत्कच पैदा हुआ था. हिडिम्बा कक्षारी राजा हिडिम्ब कि बहन थी. घटोत्कच के तिन पुत्र थे-अंजनपर्वा, बर्बरीक और मेघवाहन. इनसे सेन, राना, मघ, मेघ, बाहन, घरुका (सोमवंशी), राजवंशी, ठाकुर, कूच क्षत्रिय, बनाफर, कुरबंशी, राना कुरबंशी, घरवाल व घरोवाल, पांडवंशी, सोमवंशी, शूरवंशी आदि क्षत्रिय जातियां हुई. स्वयम भगवान श्रीकृष्ण ने घटोत्कच से कहा था तुम क्षत्रिय पुत्र हो और तुम्हारे वंशज भी क्षत्रिय कहलायेंगे. भीमा नदी के किनारे भीमा कोरेगांव महारों की सबसे प्राचीन बस्ती है. “भीमा नदी” और “भीमा कोरेगांव” के “भीमा” शब्द में शायद नहीं निश्चित रूप से पांडुपुत्र “भीम” कि स्मृति छुपी हुई है जिनके ये वंशज हैं. डॉ भीमराव रामजी अम्बेडकर में “भीम” शब्द भी उनके पूर्वज महाबली “भीम” का ही प्रतिध्वनि है.
श्री विजय सोनकर शास्त्री जी जो खुद तथाकथित दलित वर्ग से हैं उन्होंने अपनी पुस्तक “हिन्दू चर्मकार जाति का गौरवशाली राजवंशीय इतिहास” में वे साबित कर चुके हैं कि महार(थी) जाति क्षत्रिय है और पांडवों कि ओर से महाभारत युद्ध में भाग ले चुके हैं. अपने शोध के समर्थन में और भी दस्तावेज ढूंढने के क्रम में मुझे “आर वी रसेल और हीरालाल” का लिखा एक और किताब मिला जो महार(थी) जाति का उल्लेख तो दलित के रूप में ही किया है पर महार(थी) जातियों में “सबसे अधिक प्रचलित एतिहासिक पहचान” के सम्बन्ध में उन्होंने लिखा है कि महार जातियां खुद को महाभारतकालीन पांडवों के वंशज मानते हैं. उन्होंने लिखा है, “Various opinions and theories have been existing in among the Mahars. The popular one is that Somavanshi trace their descent from the five Pandavas. They claimed to have taken part with Pandavas against the Kauravas in the war of the Mahabharata and subsequently settled in Maharashtra. Cf. R.V. Russell and Hira Lal, op.cit., 132”
The Tribes And Castes Of The Central Provinces Of India Vol IV p. 132-133 में भी वर्णन है कि महार क्षत्रियों ने महाभारत युद्ध में पांडवों कि ओर से भाग लिया था. मैं उनकी पहचान पांडुपुत्र भीम के वंशज के रूप में कर शायद एक कदम और आगे बढ़ गया हूँ.
अपने जाति कि सच्चाई और इतिहास बाबा साहेब आम्बेडकर भी जानते थे इसीलिए उन्होंने लिखा है कि अधिकांश शूद्र जातियां क्षत्रियों कि सन्तान है. Ambedkar viewed Shudras as originally being “part of the Kshatriya Varna in the Indo-Aryan society”, but became socially degraded after they inflicted many tyrannies on Brahmins.
बाबा साहेब आम्बेडकर शूद्रों को आर्य और आर्यों को भारतवर्ष के मूलनिवासी मानते थे तथा आर्यों के आक्रमण के सिद्धांत के विरोधी थे. Ambedkar viewed the Shudras as Aryan and adamantly rejected the Aryan invasion theory, describing it as “so absurd that it ought to have been dead long ago” in his 1946 book Who Were the Shudras? (Bryant, Edwin (2001). The Quest for the Origins of Vedic Culture, Oxford: Oxford University Press. pp. 50–51. ISBN 9780195169478)
महार(थी) जातियों के पतन केलिए जिम्मेवार कौन
उपर्युक्त विश्लेषण से स्पष्ट है महार(थी) जाति में पैदा हुए बाबा साहेब अम्बेडकर क्षत्रिय जाति के थे न कि दलित या अछूत और न ही महार(थी) क्षत्रियों के पतन केलिए केवल ब्राह्मण होने से पेशवा को जिम्मेवार ठहराया जा सकता है क्योंकि उनकी दुर्दशा केलिए वास्तविक जिम्मेदार अंग्रेज थे जिनके लिए महारों ने अपने मराठा समाज से दगा किया पर उन्ही को धोखा देकर अंग्रेजों ने नौकरी से वंचित और बेरोजगार बना दिया जिसके कारण कुछ महारों को अपनी जीविका चलाने केलिए गाँव/शहर कि सीमा पर पहले से बसे चर्मकार लोगों का पेशा भी अपनाना पड़ गया. अंग्रेजों ने सिर्फ महार(थी) जातियों के साथ ही धोखा, अन्याय और अत्याचार नहीं किया बल्कि जैसा कि मैंने अनुसूचित जातियों पर शोध में पाया कि अंग्रेजों के लूट, अत्याचार और कुत्सित नीतियों के कारण भारत का उद्योग धंधे चौपट हो गये, लोग बेरोजगार और कंगाल हो गये, कृषक और जमींदार भी दर दर के भिखारी बन गये, लोग भूखों मरने लगे. अंग्रेजों के इन कुकर्मों और सुखाड़ के कारण लगभग २ करोड़ ६६ लाख भारतीय १७६९-१९०० इस्वी के बीच मारे गये जो भारतवर्ष कि कुल आबादी का लगभग ९% थे और जो विश्व इतिहास में चौथा सबसे बड़ा नरसंहार था. सोचिये इन परिस्थितियों में जो बचे होंगे उनकी क्या दुर्दशा होगी? उनकी उस दुर्दशा केलिए कोई ब्राह्मण या क्षत्रिय नहीं बल्कि ईसाई अंग्रेज सरकार जिम्मेदार थी. ऐसे लोगों को ही अंग्रेजों ने फूट डालो राज करो कि नीति के तहत अनुसूचित जातियों कि लिस्ट में डाला था. आश्चर्य है बाबा साहेब अम्बेडकर ने अंग्रेजों को क्लीनचिट देकर उनके सभी कुकर्मों का ठीकरा ब्राह्मणों पर फोड़ दिया. यह महार (क्षत्रिय) और पेशवा (ब्राह्मण) के बीच जातीय संघर्ष के परिवेश में पले बढ़े होने के कारण ब्राह्मणों के प्रति उनका पूर्वाग्रह था या अंग्रेज शासन के प्रति उनकी निष्ठा? दुर्भाग्य से बाबा साहेब कि ब्राह्मणों के प्रति उनकी निजी पूर्वाग्रह उनकी लेखनी में सर्वत्र दिखाई देती है और अंग्रेजी शासन के प्रति उनकी निष्ठा कि बात करें तो वे न केवल कम्युनल अवार्ड और भारत में ब्रिटिश सत्ता का समर्थन किये बल्कि भारत छोडो आन्दोलन और भारत कि आजादी का भी विरोध करते थे.
झूठ फैलाया गया है कि अम्बेडकर को बचपन में स्कूल में पढने नहीं दिया जाता था, कुआँ से पानी भरने नहीं दिया जाता था आदि. जब अम्बेडकर के पिता को किसी ने पढने से नहीं रोका और वे अंग्रेज सरकार कि सेना में सूबेदार मेजर और आर्मी स्कूल के हेडमास्टर बन गये तो फिर एक हेडमास्टर के बेटे को पढने से भला कोई क्यों और कैसे रोक सकता था? अम्बेडकर को ब्राह्मण स्कूल में पढने नहीं देते थे तो फिर पढ़ लिखकर विद्वान कैसे बन गये? इसी तरह कुँए से पानी लेने नहीं देते थे आदि बकबास दलित राजनीति केलिए गढ़ा गया है. जब कोई परिवार या गाँव या समाज किसी व्यक्ति, परिवार या जाति को समाज से बहिष्कृत कर देगा तो वह अपने कुँए का भी उपयोग करने नहीं देगा ये सामान्य बात है, छूआछूत नहीं. सवाल तो यह है कि क्या हजारों योद्धाओं वाला महार(थी) समाज जिसने १-३ जनवरी १८१८ को सिर्फ ५०० रहते हुए २५००० मराठा सैनिकों को हरा दिया था जैसा कि दलितवादी दावा करते हैं तो वे अपने लिए एक कुआँ नहीं खोद सकते थे? भला उन्हें मराठों के कुँए से पानी भरने कि क्या आवश्यकता होगी? और यदि यह सच है कि ५०० महारों ने २५००० मराठा सैनिकों को हरा दिया था तो फिर इन महावीर, महायोद्धा महारों को दबे कुचले दलित कहकर अपमानित करते हुए शर्म नहीं आती?
दलित सवर्ण का मतभेद राजनीतिक षड्यंत्र है
इसलिए ये सब दलित सवर्ण कि राजनीती करनेवाले नेहरुवादियों, अम्बेडकरवादीयों, दलितवादियों और वामपंथियों का वैसे ही दुष्प्रचार मात्र है जैसे ये मुस्लिम-अंग्रेज शासन के अत्याचार और शोषण के शिकार अनुसूचित जातियों को बेशर्मी से ५००० वर्षों से क्षत्रिय और ब्राह्मणों के द्वारा शोषण और अत्याचार के शिकार बताते हैं और समाज में वैमनस्यता और घृणा फैला रहे है. मेरा आग्रह है कि इस घृणित दुष्प्रचार को बंद कर बाबा साहेब के द्वारा किये गये अच्छे कार्यों का प्रचार प्रसार करें.
बाबा साहेब अम्बेडकर एक विद्वान व्यक्ति थे और कोई संदेह नहीं कि वे महान व्यक्तित्व थे. उन्होंने मुस्लिम शासन और अंग्रेज शासन के लूट, शोषण और अत्याचार से दीन हीन और बदहाली के शिकार लाखों करोड़ों हिन्दुओं केलिए जो किया वह उन्हें महान साबित करने केलिए पर्याप्त है. छूआछूत और ब्राह्मणों के शोषण, अत्याचार के झूठा प्रपंच रचने कि कोई जरूरत नहीं है जैसा कि आज दलितवादी, अम्बेडकरवादी और वामपंथी अपने क्षुद्र राजनितिक स्वार्थ केलिए कर रहे हैं. जब मुसलमानों के सत्य इतिहास लिखने कि बारी आई थी तो नेहरुवादियों और वामपंथी इतिहासकारों ने सवाल उठाया कि अगर हम मुसलमानों का सत्य इतिहास लिखकर उन्हें आक्रमणकारी, हिन्दुओं, बौद्धों का हत्यारा, बलात्कारी, बुतशिकन (मन्दिरों को तोड़ने वाला), अत्याचारी आदि बतायेंगे तो फिर हिन्दू मुस्लिम एकता और भाईचारे का क्या होगा, इसलिए ९०% झूठवाला सेकुलर इतिहास लिखा गया. सवाल है वही लोग मुस्लिम-ईसाई शासकों के कुकर्मों केलिए हम हिन्दुओं (ब्राह्मणों) को ही जिम्मेदार ठहराकर हम हिन्दुओं (दलित+सवर्ण) के साथ कौन सा खेल खेल रहे हैं?
दलितों को उनका हक मिलना ही चाहिए
वे शोषित, पीड़ित और गरीब लोग हैं, उन्हें जो लाभ मिल रहा है उन्हें मिलना ही चाहिए परन्तु उन्हें सत्य जानने का अधिकार है कि उनका शोषण, उत्पीड़न करनेवाले खुद १००० वर्षों तक मुस्लिम और अंग्रेज शासकों से शोषित, पीड़ित क्षत्रिय, ब्राह्मण नहीं बल्कि हम सभी भारतियों का शोषक, उत्पीड़क, लूटेरा और अत्याचारी मुस्लिम और अंग्रेज शासक थे. एक अंतिम सवाल पूरे देशवासियों से है. क्या मुस्लिम-अंग्रेज शासन के अत्याचार से दीन हीन बने अनुसूचित जाति के इन लोगों को, आज मिल रही समस्त सुविधाओं के साथ, फिर से अपने पुराने गौरवशाली पहचान तथा उसी सम्मान और गर्व के साथ जीने का अधिकार नहीं है? अगर है तो कैसे होगा? इसपर विचार करने कि आवश्यकता है.

महारथी जाती के लोग छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज की सेना में थे । यह सच है । और उन्होंने कई लढाईयाँ भी लढी थी । ये भी सच है । जब पुरंदर किले पर आक्रमण हुआ था तब इसमें महारठा सेना से जो 3000 लोग शहींद हुए थे , सब के सब महारथी जाती के थे । पानीपत युद्ध में पेशवाह की जान बचाने के बदले एक सेनापती सिदनाक महार को वतनदारी भी दी गई थी , अगर महार अछुत होते तो उनको वतनदारी कैसे मिलती ? पेशवाह के समय का एक भूलाया गया युद्ध ऐसा भी है की जिसमें सिर्फ एक महार जाती के पाटील नें 300 मुस्लिम सैनिकों को एक रात में काटकर जीत दिलाई थी । उस महार योद्धा की मुर्ती पुणे के पास एक नागेवाडी गाँव है , उस गाँव के देवी के साथ उस महार योद्धा की मुर्ती पुजी जाती है । उस गाँव के महार पाटील आज बनसोडे (हिंदू भाषा में रणछोड) कहलाते है । उनके वंशज आज भी जिंदा है । सैंकडो एकर जमिन उनको पेशवाहों ने दी है । सम्राट अशोक की सेनापती महारथी ही थे । गननाक महारथी आज भी महाराष्ट्र के बेडसे लेणीयों के शिलालेख में लिखा मिलता है । आखरी पेशवाओं के काल में आपात कालमें महारों द्वारे गाय का माँस खाने से इनको अछूत बनाया गया था । इससे महाराष्ट्र का और देश का भी नुकसान हुआ ।
